e-Types CEO promotes Danish Design in Asia

e-Types CEO Søren Skafte Overgaard was recently on a ‘Tour of Asia’, visiting large Asian corporations, to promote Denmark and Copenhagen as a vibrant design hub and perfect place to set up a European Design centre
The tour, arranged by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affaris, spanned China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea and Japan and combined one-on-one meetings with the heads of a.o. Sony  and NEC Design Teams, Visits to ODMs such as Compal and dinners at the ambassadors residences in Seoul and Tokyo with selected business people and design executives.

My take-away is that we have a lot to offer each other. The awareness of design is high in all the countries we visited. They are in different stages of implementation. But generally the development and growth is moving very fast. Denmark and Copenhagen is an interesting entry point for Asian corporations wanting to win the European market because of a number of factors, not least the integrated way in which design plays a role in Danish society. In a lot of areas Denmark is falling behind when we look at the pace I have just witnessed in Asia, and we really have to step up and not rest on our laurels. In this way cooperation between fast-moving Asian companies and highly skilled Danish design companies seem like a perfect match” said Søren Skafte Overgaard.

On December 6th. e-Types will, in collaboration with Danish Design Association (DDA), host an event with the Danish ambassador to Seoul Mr. Peter Lysholt Hansen, where the design community gets a chance to discuss Asia as a business opportunity and hear insights and experiences from the Asia Tour from Søren Overgaard, designer Eskild Hansen and Alle Rose, Head of communication from the Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design, both part of the team touring Asia.

European Newspaper Award Winner

Berlingske is awarded 'European Newspaper of the Year' in the category of nationwide newspapers

"Berlingske does not have any hectic tabloid vibrancy, but relatively long articles presented in a quiet four-column layout. In their size, the images are well-balanced, providing, on the whole, a very serious and yet contemporary appearance.", it says in the official statement.

Early 2011, e-Types redesigned the Berlingske logotype, coat of arms and provided a new custom made typeface — imaginatively, called Berlingske.

Great golfing, simply put

Things are moving fast in India, and nowhere faster than in southern IT hub Bengaluru, where the Prestige Golfshire Club is laid out at Nandi Hills, just outside the city perimeter.

e-Types and local partner Creative Network was commisioned by Prestige Construction to develop the brand and visual identity for the establishment. Our task was to develop a brand that would express a resort of refined, world class standards.
Prestige Golfshire Club is not only a championship golf layout — run by American Troon Golf — it is 240 luxurious villas, a Marriott hotel (opening in 2012), a conference centre and a club house, where you can relax, swim, eat and dine in style.

Prestige Golfshire Club welcomes you for the first swing in early 2012.

Serious journalism

e-Types client nominated for prestigious journalist award
The food and agriculture sector is the focus of much attention - they make what we eat, they influence what we drink, and the wellbeing of millions of animals is their responsibility. It's also a great export earner, the farmers and their produce offer solutions to many of the challenges faced by modern society and many people's jobs depend on it. In short, there are a lot of stories to be told.

For the bold, open and sometimes critical features and articles the editorial staff of the monthly magazine, FOOD&CULTURE is nominated for the The Cavling Prize, the most prestigious Danish journalist award. FOOD&CULTURE is published by the business confederation, Agriculture and Food representing the farming and food industries of Denmark including businesses, trade and farmers’ associations. The nomination is based on how the journalists of FOOD&CULTURE treat delicate issues in the fields of agriculture and food with high journalistic credibility and integrity.

In 2011 e-Types revitalized the magazine with a completely new concept and magazine layout. The strategy derives from the brand strategy work, developed in 2010 by e-Types for Agriculture & Food. The magazine is layouted at the e-Types Group company, India.
