Organic in Style
When products are similar, it is the positioning of the products that make the difference between success and failure.
The development of the packaging for Nascent's organic skin care products is a classic packaging assignment. Produced in Denmark, the product is marketed against large, international competitors. There was a time when the fact that the product is organic would have been so characteristic a selling point that it would have influenced the packaging significantly.
But times have changed. For the younger generation of consumers organic products are something natural and not something that necessarily has to be remarked upon explicitly in the graphic identity. Therefore, a classic design was created, that signals wholeness, lifestyle and quality, positioning it sharply against traditional organic products while at the same creating the stylishness and familiarity that allows it to be priced in the upscale market.
