Curing Allergy
The Danish pharmaceutical company ALK's new visual identity whips the firm into shape - ready to defeat allergy, not only in Denmark but worldwide. Temporary solutions and a wide range of different
logos have been replaced with a new international streamlining that supports global ambitions and spearheads their business strategy.
"The challenge was to develop an idea big enough to link together ALK's various sections. The visual identity should take the best from their Danish heritage while being international at the same time. This was necessary both in terms of logo and name but also the photo style needed to function in many different countries and cultures"
says Camilla Frederiksen, senior consultant at e-Types.
Particles
The new logo consists of a number of particles or dots gradually transforming into a logotype. This has been inspired by the fact that ALK turns the complex world of allergy and allergen particles into an effective treatment targeted at the cause of allergy. The shape of vials, drops and tablets from ALK's allergy vaccines have also been an inspiration for the designers but as with all design, the logo remains open to interpretation.
