Branding the Danish Educational Model

The Danish educational brand was created to profile Denmark as an attractive country in which to study. The brand gathers all of Denmark's higher education programs under a range of common values while allowing each institution the opportunity to highlight its own brand and individual distinctiveness.

At the center of the concept is the idea of the Danish educational model itself - a unique proposition based on a set of values unique to the danish and scandinavian way of doing things. Values that are to be expressed indirectly through text and pictures as well as directly through the three words THINK, PLAY, PARTICIPATE.

The three words serve as the brand pay-off and may be used together or separately. The words illustrate a number of strong values that characterize the studying in Denmark. E.g. problem orientated learning, creativity, innovation, informal learning and autonomy, active participation, initiative, teamwork, dialogue etc.

Graphically the design expresses seriousness and quality while still appealing to the target group: young international students. At the same time the brand is inspired by the magazine genre and kept in black, white and red, creating a clear and uncluttered feel while making space for large illustrative pictures.
