The White Cube

The new visual identy for the Danish Arts Foundation is inspired by the White Cube - the term used on the art scene for the white galleries in which art is most often exhibited.

The Danish Arts Foundation, The Danish Arts Council and The Danish Arts Agency moved to new offices. To mark the event e-Types was asked to design two separate identity programs for The Danish Arts Foundation and The Danish Arts Council, establishing firm boundaries between them and the parent organization The Danish Arts Agency.

Because of the similarity between the institutions, applicants, press and public have often found it hard to discern between them. The new identities are designed to establish firm and unique identities, creating greater clarity for immediate stakeholders and public alike.

The program for The Danish Arts Foundation is inspired by the white gallery space - The White Cube - and from the empty canvas, symbolic of Art in its preliminary form. The logo and identity are underscored by a mission text that appears on everything from envelopes to stationary to website. In extension of the identity, e-Types has designed the Annual Reports for The Danish Arts Foundation in 2005, 2006 and 2007.
